Datatool replacement fobs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: November 13, 2006, 08:41:38 PM »
 :banghead
Bought a replacement fob for my Datatool evo/stealth alarm, as the old fob was a bit worn. The guy at the garage told me I had to program it in myself???????????? :o
Took part of the fairing off lifted the tank and I could see the alarm unit, but the instruction spoke of a green wire :o could I see a green wire, could I F!*K.
Question I have is, are all these alarms a pain in the arse to work with? I have had to arrange for the Datatool dealer to uplift the bike and sort the problem as I don't have a clue.
Any other horror story's let me know as I feel like a donkey after the weak attempt I made at this.

Yeah all the wires are black.....before fitting they have coloured tags on the end, they are cut off when fitted

Bought a replacement fob for my Datatool evo/stealth alarm, as the old fob was a bit worn.

After getting stranded 100 miles away from home, as fob stopped working, i phoned datatool direct and they sent me two fobs free of charge, i did re-programme them myself without too much trouble, to be fair they were quite helpfull

Yep, when fitted the wires are colour coded but after fitting they cut them off....... :twistedhd Great for stopping thief's but a pain in the arse if you have to re-programme a fob yourself.
Got the garage to do it for me, they said the colour tags had been left on which helped them do the fob but did state that where the alarm had been fited was unusual.

Everything now ok and the bike is tucked up in the garage with a heater.
